CLIMSO (Christian Latouche IMageur Solaire) is an astronomical observation instrument specialized in the study of the Sun.
CLIMSO has 4 optical ways to observe 6 different wavelengths :
- a coronagraph, C1, for the observation of the cold crown in Ha (656.28 nm) ;
- a coronagraph, C2, for the observation of the hot crown in He I (1083.0 nm), Fe XIII (1074.9 nm, 1079.8 nm, 1077.0 nm continuum inter lines) ;
- Coronado solar telescope L1 for the surface observation ("light ions") in Ha < 0,5 A (5 nm) (656.28 nm) ;
- Coronado solar telescope L2 for the surface observation ("heavy ions", magnetic grid activity) Ca II (K1v:393.36730 and K3:393.36863 nm) (line K of Fraunhofer) ;
BASS2000 now provides C1 and L1 observations.
